We are just hours away from what feels like the most consequential U.S. election in our lifetime. Many issues are seemingly at stake that are close to our hearts and close to the heart of God: the rights of the unborn, safety in our communities, and protection for Israel. It is true that there are two kingdoms at war in our world today. The forces of light and darkness waging a tug-of-war between good and evil, between righteousness and folly.
But we know that there is really only one King that rules supreme. And there is only one Kingdom that will stand the test of time. Our God is on His throne, and His reign is not determined by the outcome of this next election or any election for that matter. We serve the God who is, who was, and who is to come. And when the politics of our time seems to stir up divisions and chaos, King Jesus remains above it all.

Isaiah the prophet says:
“Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.”

In this time of uncertainty and political division, we can look to God as the source of clarity and security in all things. He was King on the throne long before the current election cycle, and He will still be on the throne long after our next president finishes their time in office.

There is only one King: Jesus.
And there is only one Kingdom: the Kingdom of our God.

I encourage every minister in our network to pray for this Tuesday’s election. Pray that God raises up righteousness in every office and officeholder in the land, and that His presence will permeate every aspect of our political system. Pray that the ministers of the Gospel will stand for righteousness both in the pulpit and in the public square. And pray that the knowledge of the glory of the Lord will cover the earth as the waters cover the sea.

His will be done,
President Steve Holder
