To me, Christmas is all about God sovereignly orchestrating events to serve His purpose. Imagine God as a master maestro conducting the orchestra of nations, world leaders, and global events. Like pawns on His chessboard, He maneuvers them to fulfill His plan. And why is God on Earth as an embryo, a baby, a man, such a good plan?
God is ON to be IN!
“The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ IN YOU, the hope of glory.” Colossians 1:26-27 (NKJV)
God on the Earth is all about His desire to be IN us!
Jesus: His name was Emmanuel-God with us. But His purpose is to be Jesus Christ IN us. Jesus wants to not only be beside you, but He wants to be inside you!
That is why God was on the Earth two-thousand years ago as a baby. He was born to die and to live again so that we could die to self and have Christ live in us.
Christmas is all about God on the Earth. But God on the Earth is so much, much more than a Christmas story: it is a picture of how far God was willing to go to live in you.
When He lives within you, He will come out of you to reveal God on the Earth. Christ in us is the hope of glory.
“I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.” John 17:23
