Merry Christmas!
This a most holy and joyous occasion – the birth of Jesus represents the starting point of God’s ultimate gift to mankind: His one and only Son!
We celebrate Jesus’ birth as our Wonderful Counselor: the one who guides our lives and shows us how to live. We celebrate Him as our Mighty God: fully man and fully God, sent to earth to experience life as one of us so we can be reconciled to Himself. He is our Everlasting Father: the One who was and is to come – alpha, omega, existing outside of time, fully powerful to defeat the enemy and bring His children into right relationship with God. Our Prince of Peace: His rule over all the world brings reconciliation and forgiveness, and we get to celebrate that peace now at Christmas.
No matter who you are or what life circumstances you are experiencing, the birth of our savior is worth celebrating. It marks the beginning of Christ’s time on earth, which inevitably led to His sacrifice on the cross and the atonement for our sins. And ultimately brought the defeat of death through His resurrection to glory! The birth of Jesus is what started it all, and that is what we are celebrating today.
I pray God’s overwhelming presence would be with you during this time. And that the Prince of Peace would bring you comfort and peace during the holidays.
