Thoughts and prayers with the people of Mexico
By now, many of you have heard about the tragedy in Mexico City on Tuesday afternoon. A powerful earthquake struck the city, toppling buildings, destroying infrastructure, and killing over 150 people.
The recovery process is anticipated to be long and painstaking. Hundreds of structures have been damaged, and it is expected that there are still people trapped beneath the rubble. We are praying for miracles in the coming days as emergency workers and community members labor to save as many people as possible.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Mexico City and the surrounding areas. We are praying for peace in difficult times, and for supernatural provision and wisdom in the early hours of the recovery.
Our hemisphere has been rocked by many natural disasters in the past few weeks. Floods, storms, and earthquakes have brought tragedy. Now more than ever, we need to demonstrate the love of Jesus in faith and in action. When our neighbors are in need, it is the responsibility of Christians everywhere to be the first to lend a hand. To be a true neighbor and friend, like Jesus modeled for us.
Denzil & Rebeca Hood have been faithfully ministering in Mexico for many years. They are leading efforts in their city to see victims cared for and families supported during this difficult time. We fully endorse and support their ministry, and are committed to assisting them with whatever resources we can mobilize.
If you or your ministry feel the call to support our brothers and sisters in Mexico during this time of crisis, please consider giving your financial support. We have set up a special fund specifically for this urgent need, and will directly disburse the funds to the ministries working on the ground. Let’s rise up as a Fellowship to see our neighbors in Mexico cared for during this difficult time.
